Code of Conduct

I, __________________________ (name), __________________________ (function), representative of __________________________ (organisation), commit myself to Magic Lantern Foundation (MLF) and all filmmakers whose films are part of this travelling package to respect and abide by the following code of conduct while borrowing and using the travelling film festival package of 'Other Worlds are Breathing 2005':

1.

The festival's host needs to inform MLF in advance of ALL planned screenings (if they are planning a small tour in various places) and give details of dates, venues and audience (for us to be able to communicate it to filmmakers).

2.

The festival is a NON COMMERCIAL EVENT and should therefore be FREE and OPEN TO ALL (it is the condition under which filmmakers/producers/distributors have given their permission).

3.

It is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to copy any film belonging to the package. Copying a film without permission is not only illegal, but an unethical act, and Magic Lantern Foundation does not permit duplication of any film, whatever the reason for doing so may be.

4.

It is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to sell or lend any of the films which are part of the package.

5.

ALL films from the package must be shown during the festival AND IN THEIR ENTIRETY. It is not allowed to only show parts of films.

6.

No moving clip or audio from the films can be used for any promo or publicity.

7.

The festival's package must be sent back to MLF as soon as the festival is over.

8.

The borrower has to take responsibility for the safe and quick return of the package to MLF. In case of loss of any film or the package as a whole, the borrower has to bear the financial responsibility for replacement of the film or package, as well as take moral responsibility to explain the reasons for such loss to both Magic Lantern Foundation and the respective filmmakers in writing.

9.

All films must be sent back to MLF even if they are damaged or broken. In such cases, the borrower must bear the cost for their replacement.

10.

Individuals interested in acquiring copies of the films in the package should directly get in touch with the respective filmmakers.

11.

The organisers are kindly requested to send a brief report of the event to MLF, to document the process and share the experience with the participating filmmakers.
